SAP ERP is a product of Sap AG which focuses on business administration. R/3 is the older but well-known version of that system. SAP R/3 functionality was completely written in a proprietary language ABAP(Advanced Business Application Programming). ABAP, or its fourth generation version ABAP/4, enable the developer to create easy but very flexible and quick programmes. Only the kernel was written in the C programming language. Java can be also used as a development tool since mySAP.com appeared in 2003. R/3 provide a complex development environment which simplifies both changing of existing applications and creating new ones. ABAP communicate with database using SQL commands for ETL.
